Today’s public safety polos aren’t your grandfather’s golf shirt. Once upon a time, functional features on polos were limited to your choice of a left or right chest pocket.
While a good pocket is a fine thing, there’s a lot more to today’s public safety polos.
Manufacturers now incorporate job-specific features for public safety, most commonly pen pockets on the sleeves and lapel loops for mics or sunglasses.
More specialized shirts, like those for bike patrol, may include wire tunnels for comms. There are also dedicated CCW polos that are perfect for covert ops or for off duty wear.
